FLIGHT (2009) 2 minute test

Two minute clip from the 20 minute work I am developing for the event Sync’d, at Pittsburgh Filmmaker’s Melwood Screening Room on December 18.

FLIGHT : a bird uses its wings. This repeated gesture carries it aloft, a journey outward.

Movement, the difference between animation and still image. The film takes the viewer on an inward journey.

Some of these symbols are transformed images from paintings, drawings and etchings I made years ago, and return to periodically, making by hand. In this case, the heart drawn with birds on a line …

The soundtrack will be performed live by bands Dire Wolves and Black Yodel. I hope to eventually use the recording of that performance to score the film.

Animations constructed in Flash CS3 & Motion 3. Assembled in FCP 6.
